The Maitreya School of Healing was founded by Lily Cornford and Joseph Leech in 1974 and registered as a charity in 1982 (UK charity trust no. 285439). We are a founder member of the Confederation of Healing Organisations and the school is a member of the International Association of Colour.
The name Maitreya means "kindness" and is the name of the future Enlightened One - predicted by the Buddha - who will have great knowledge, wisdom and friendliness.
Our method of healing was developed by Lily and Joseph through many years of practice and is influenced by traditional Eastern philosophy.
The school was created to help others learn these principles and techniques. Some of the current members trained with Lily or Joseph and the school has continued the teaching since they passed on.
